Professional Experience & Track Record
Born and bred in Kuala Lumpur in a family of entrepreneurs and businessmen, Ms. Ong has displayed her outstanding ability in academics and extra-curricular activities during her university time, With her strong determination and commitment, she successfully obtained her LL.B. honours degree from University of London and CLP.
She did her pupilage with Messrs. Lim Kean Siew & Co in Kuala Lumpur. She later worked as a legal assistant in Messrs. Jerald Gomez & Associates, a firm which is well known for civil & criminal litigation work. After 2 years, Ms. Ong moved on to Messrs. Lee Boon Peng & Co. and was exposed to conveyancing , corporate, civil and banking documentation restructuring work.
Therefore with her well-balanced and extensive exposure in conveyancing, corporate and litigation areas, she started to embark on a new journey of professional excellence by establishing ETS™ in 1999.
As the Senior Partner of the Firm, Ms. Ong has vast experiences in the various areas of legal practice summarised as follows:
Conveyancing & Will-Writing Department
Ms. Ong practices general conveyancing, which includes advising on and drafting general agreements on sale and purchase, rental of real property and documents securing the financing thereof.
She specialises in handling banking documentation including overdraft loan documents, corporate financing documents, general agreement concerning land and company matters, and debt restructuring (reconstruction and restructuring).
Corporate & Intellectual Properties Department
Ms. Ong is also the Trade Marks Agent and Industrial Designs Agent registered under the Intellectual Property Corporation of Malaysia ("PHIM"). This stems from her passion for the promotion and awareness of intellectual property rights among business owners and corporation.
In 2004, Ms. Ong has passed the patent examination with outstanding results and hence, become a Patent Agent and registered under PHIM.
Ms. Ong has always possessed particular interest in the development of franchise businesses. She provides advice on setting up a franchise, create a master franchise, sub-franchise, registration of franchise with the relevant authorities, etc.
Ms. Ong also has particular interest in providing legal advisory services for small and medium industries (SMI’s) from their setting up to their crucial of growth and drafting of contracts on company and land matters (sale and purchase agreements and general agreements relating thereto).
She also has experiences in handling housing projects and whereby she was involved with Belmas Johan in the Taman Industri Belmas Johan project and Deumont Developers for the Heritage House, Kuala Lumpur project respectively.
She has been handling a few housing development projects which were awarded to the Firm, namely Ambassy Business Park in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur and E-Mas Villa in Salak Tinggi and Taman Zamrud, Negeri Sambilan. She also assisted in promoting housing development in the Felda Scheme.
Litigation & Employment Matters Department
Ms. Ong has extensive exposure to civil litigation and has represented corporations and individuals in various pre-trial strategy, risk evaluation and full trial especially in areas of disputes among shareholders, winding up, receivership, debt collection, late delivery, rental recovery, execution proceeding, specific performance, injunction, foreclosure proceeding, land acquisition, matrimonial proceeding, etc.
She is also well versed in employment matters and labour law, accident matters, bankruptcy matters and estate matters (contested or otherwise)
Ms. Ong has experiences in most areas of criminal litigation especially in arrest, assault, bail, theft, drug related cases, etc.
She has been invited to assist on the drafting of the new Contempt Proceedings Bill, which has been finalised by the Attorney General Chamber of Malaysia.
