Esther Ong Tengku Saiful & Sree is a legal firm registered
with the bar Council of Malaysia under the leadership of senior
partner, Ms Esther Ong Hui Chuen, managing partner, Tengku
Saiful and partner Ms. Ranee Sreedharan.
The background,
experience and scope of works of Miss Esther Ong are as follows:-
Academic Qualification
Obtained
an honours degree in LL.B. from University of London, United
Kingdom. She has also obtained the professional qualification
in Certificate in Legal Practice with honours. A member of
the Malaysian Bar and a practising Advocate and Solicitor
of the High Court of Malaya.
Conveyancing and Corporate Matters
Miss
Ong practices general conveyancing, which includes advising
on and drafting general agreements concerning sale and purchase,
rental of real property and documents securing the financing
thereof.
She handles banking documentations including overdraft loan
documents, corporate financing documents, generalagreements
concerning land and company matters, debt restructuring (reconstruction
and restructuring).
She also
has experience in handling housing projects whereby she was
involved with Belmas Johan in the Taman Industri Belmas Johan
project, Pancaran Jelas in the Orkid Desa Cheras project and
Deumont Developers for the Heritage House project respectively.
Recently,
our firm has handled the housing development project for Ambassy
Business Park in Jalan Ampang and E-Mas Villa in Nilai.
She has
particular interest in giving legal advisory services for
small and medium industries (SMIs) during their crucial stage
of growth and drafting of contracts concerning company and
land matters (sale and purchase agreements and general agreements
relating to land).
She has
also advised on the legal mechanism to "tighten"
documentations and eliminate loopholes.
Civil Litigation
Miss Ong
has extensive exposure to civil litigation and has represented
individuals and corporations in various pre-trial strategy,
risk evaluation and full trial especially in areas of particularly
disputes amongst shareholders, winding up, receivership, debt
collection, late delivery, rental recovery, execution proceeding,
injunction, specific performance, matrimonial proceeding,
foreclosure proceeding, land acquisition matter, etc.
She also
has experience in labour law, accident matters and estate matters
(contested or otherwise).
Criminal Litigation
Miss Ong
has experience in most areas of criminal litigation especially
in theft, drug and assault cases.
She has
been invited to assist on the drafting of the new Contempt
Proceedings Bill, which has already been finalized by the
Attorney General Chambers of Malaysia.
Franchising
Miss
Ong has also particular interest in the development of franchising
(advising on the setting up of a franchise, creating a master
franchise, sub franchise and related matters).
Others
Miss Ong
involved in the organization of a Child Protection Act Conference
in 1995. She was also invited to participate in the 12th Commonwealth
Law Conference 1999 which was held in Kuala Lumpur. She was
one of the committee members of the Young Lawyers' Committee
of the Conference.
She is
currently the legal advisor to a Condominium Management Corporation
in Kuala Lumpur.
